My Life in the RAF

by Sqn Ldr D. W. Grubb

Derrick joined the RAF as soon as he was old enough. He was sent to join 112 Squadron and flew P40's off a beach in Italy until he was shot down and taken POW. In the harsh winter of 1944 he was forced marched, along with thousands of other POW's, hundreds of miles with very little food or water  to flee from the advancing Red Army.

A truly fascinating story of hardship and endeavour.
